11 April 2016

June 1st, Ronald Ramakers, originally working in the theatre world in the field of artistics, technique and management, will become the new GLOW director, succeeding Eric Boselie.
GLOW Eindhoven is a free, cultural event, during which fourty light artists transform the city into an extraordinary public light art festival, for one week. Last year, the event attracted 730,000 visitors to Eindhoven. Ramakers: "The next few years, GLOW has set ambition to continue to develop itself into the world's best light festivals. It is an exciting challenge to contribute to this ambition..."

The new director's origin lies in the world of theatre. First as a light technician and light designer, later as a director. His career is characterised by a combination of artistic ambition and a management talent. After his education at the school for theatre in Amsterdam, he worked as an artist. The past 10 years he has been working in management at the commercial technical company Phanta Visual. Furthermore, he has made creditable efforts during the tender for the AV-installation of the Rijksmuseum and the development of the interactive light art work 'Trust de Cloud'.
