The Open Eindhoven Expo in the Heuvel is open to everyone. Eindhoven is growing and changing quickly. More and more people want to live, work, study, and enjoy the city. That means we need to ensure there are enough homes, good accessibility, quality healthcare and education, as well as space for shops, culture, greenery, and biodiversity. How do we, as a city, deal with this and what does the future look like? You’ll discover it during the Open Eindhoven Tours.

About the Open Eindhoven Tours

With the Open Eindhoven Tours, you’ll soon understand where, what, when, and why Eindhoven is changing, and you’ll start to see your own city in a new way. You can book four different tours:

  • KnoopXL (on foot): In the coming years, a completely new urban area will emerge around the station. Where there are now mainly offices, thousands of homes, new squares, and lots of green space will be built. The tour takes you past current construction near the station, through numerous tunnels, to striking places that you won’t recognize in the future.
  • Stadhuisplein (on foot): Stadhuisplein is transforming from a paved square into a lively area with greenery, where the Dommel river will flow through and housing will be built around it, along with many restaurants and cafés. It will still be a place to celebrate King’s Day, Carnival, and PSV’s championships. Along the way, you’ll walk along Vestdijk and pass the Begijnenhof, where a lot of construction will also take place. We end at the Dommel by Stratumseind.
  • Kanaalzone (by bike): A cycling tour along areas with an industrial past. The Eindhoven Canal is being transformed into a park-like environment with housing, culture, and recreation. At the end, where the Campina dairy factory once stood, you’ll see two impressive construction projects developed with respect for industrial heritage. Before that, we stop at the Schellenskwartier and the NRE site.
  • From Victoriakwartier via Groot Gestel (by bike): Behind the Witte Dame, a completely new residential area is being developed, centered around the future Victoriapark. Following the route of the new high-speed bus line HOV4, we cycle toward the Gestel district. In the coming years, many developments will take place there under the name “Groots Gestel,” such as the renovation of Kastelenplein and the addition of many new homes and facilities.
