New Years EHVE nominated for the National Event Awards

The jury has officially announced the nominations for the 2025 National Event Awards. Which cities and events are recognized this year as outstanding within the Dutch public events sector?

Eindhoven’s free New Year’s show, New Years EHVE, is competing for the title of Best Public Event alongside Zomerparkfeest in Venlo and De Dom pakt uit in Utrecht. In the category Event City of the Year, the nominees are Groningen, Zandvoort, and Harlingen. For the Event Impact Award, the nominations are Expeditie NEXT, Darwinparkfestival, and Swim to Fight Cancer Den Bosch.

The nominees will soon present a pitch to the jury, who will then determine the winners. The final assessment takes into account factors such as vision, approach, accessibility, innovation, collaboration with stakeholders, and the social impact on the city.

The jury

The jury of the National Event Awards is chaired by Johan Moerman (former director of Rotterdam Festivals) and includes members Demelzha Blinker, Willem Westermann, and Marianne Dijkshoorn. The jury is also supplemented by rotating members representing the winners in the categories Event City of the Year and Best Public Event 2024. This year, these members are Caia Oortwijn (Events Policy Officer, Municipality of Tilburg) and Liselotte Gatzen (Director, Big Rivers Festival). The winners will be announced at the National Events Congress on Monday, April 7, in Schiedam.
